Selected Birth Trauma Cases: Gipson v. Methodist Healthcare, et al. -
Although Defendant nurses noted deterioration of the fetal heart rate
during Plaintiff’s labor, they failed to notify the attending
doctor. As a result, the child suffered severe brain damage due
to birth trauma, which could have been prevented had a C-Section been

Plaintiff was discharged from the hospital and diagnosed with
“dehydration” despite the occurrence of concerning fetal heart tones,
which indicated deterioration of the fetal condition. Five days
